Vanessa and Cody worked remotely at PNC Marketing when their paths crossed for the first time. Cody attended a virtual all-hands marketing call where Vanessa led a presentation. After hearing her voice and seeing her Skype photo, he quickly searched for her on social media. With different responsibilities and work that didn't overlap, after a few days of texting and getting to know each other, the couple took a first chance at their love story and went on their first date on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the Hofbräuhaus in the Southside of Pittsburgh, PA.

 

However, immediately after their first date, a member of Cody's team went on leave — and you guessed right — Vanessa was assigned her projects and began working directly with Cody, which led the couple to cancel their second date quickly.

 

Thanks to a plot twist (from God), Cody was offered a job outside the marketing team just two weeks later, allowing the couple to give their love story another chance. They finally scheduled and went on their second date, which must have gone well since you are currently reading this on their wedding page — and aren’t we glad that it did?

 

After their second date came the third, and then many more to follow. Many weekends, months, trips together, beach days, quality time with family and friends, and even a relocation that took them away from the cold state of Pennsylvania down to the sunshine state of Florida — and did I mention a major hurricane? But most importantly, lots of happiness, companionship, respect, and love.

 

And love, as we know, is one of the many and most essential ingredients in the recipe of forever. This led to Cody's surprise proposal to Vanessa during their vacation in Puerto Rico, where Vanessa packed her bikinis, and Cody packed an engagement ring! On Sunday, November 13, 2022, Cody proposed during a gorgeous sunset at the Castillo San Felipe del Morro (El Morro) in San Juan.
